本論考は，フィンランドの研究者が開発した「Nurse Competence Scale (NCS)」の日本語版作成までのプロセスを明らかにしたものである．NCS の翻訳は，本プロジェクトで開発した「看護実践能力自己評価尺度」の併存妥当性の検討に使用すること，および海外で開発された看護実践能力評価尺度の日本における有用性を検討することを目的として行われた．手順として，これまでの翻訳尺度作成の文献検討のち，翻訳尺度の等価性を維持できる方法を検討した．この文献検討において，概ね，Brislin の考えを踏まえていたことが確認できた．本プロセスにおいては，フィンランド語と日本語のバックトランスレーションを繰り返す中で，作成者とのコミュニケーションが質問項目の意図を汲むうえでの大きな手掛かりとなった．今回の翻訳は，日本語版NCS を作成することを目標として，日本の看護師が質問項目を理解し，解釈できることを目指しながらも，フィンランド語の意味重視の訳となった．よって，バックトランスレーションにおいては，基点言語（source language）の意味重視というレベルにおいて，等価性を確認することができた．今後は，実際の調査結果をもとに信頼性，妥当性検討を行い，日本においてこの日本語版NSC がどこまで使用可能か等を検討していく予定である． |

This discussion is presented to clarify the process of making a Japanese version of the Nurse Competence Scale (NCS) from the Finnish version that was originally developed by Finnish researchers. The purpose of translating the NCS was to use it for the examination of concurrent validity of Clinical Nursing Competence Self-assessment Scale (CNCSS) developed for this project and its usefulness in Japan of the NCS originally developed overseas. After literature reviews on translation of scales, we investigated methods to maintain the equivalence of the Finnish and Japanese versions. During this literature review, basically we were able to confirm that a number of papers were based on Brislin's translation model. In this process of repeated back translations, communication with the scale developer was an important clue to understanding the intentions of the questionnaire items. While we tried to make questionnaire items which could be understood by Japanese nurses, in the present translation we ended up placing emphasis on the meanings in Finnish (semantic translation) as we had a presumption that Finnish translation had to be approved by the developer. Therefore, in the process of back translation, we were able to have confirmation of the equivalence between the Japanese translation and the semantically translated text originally written in source language. For the future, we are planning to examine to what extent this Japanese version NCS can be used after its reliability and validity based on the survey results have been examined. |
